Exeter is located in the heart of the citrus belt with some of the finest citrus groves in the United States. Hundreds of citrus farms are headquartered in Exeter. It is also the home of the California Citrus Mutual, a trade association of citrus growers with over 800 members.
Exeter, known as a mural city provides visitors and tourists with an outdoor art gallery through giant murals reflecting Exeter's history and culture. Exeter's historic downtown combines small town charm with a wide variety of antique stores, specialty shops and dining.
Recreational opportunities include a nine-hole golf course, tennis courts, miniature golf, bowling on the green and recreation at nearby Lake Kaweah.
Exeter is the home of an internationally known troupe of "cowboy-girls", talented trick riders and ropers who have performed all over the world from China to Norway. Also available to visitors is a working horse ranch which hosts horse shows and competitions.
