Sequoia Valley’s National Parks and Forests
Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks and Inyo and Sequoia National Forests comprise 1,371,020 acres altogether. Sequoia National Park is California's second oldest national park. The parks and forests provide an array of dining, lodging and camping services. Mountain resorts, winter sports of all kinds, fishing, boating, backpacking, hunting, hiking, and water skiing attract thousands of visitors. The two national parks contain the largest sequoias in the world, including the famous General Grant Tree and the General Sherman Tree.

Outdoor Recreation
Sequoia Valley offers hundreds of acres of parks and miles of bikeways. Within an hour's drive from most Sequoia Valley cities you can pick from among year-round activities, including boating, fishing, backpacking, rock climbing, back country horsepacking, cross country skiing, four wheel drive touring, snowmobiling, more than 900 miles of marked trails for hiking, a variety of camp sites, lodging, and learning centers.

  • California Hot Springs

  • Allensworth State Park

    Allensworth State ParkAllensworth is the only California town to be founded, financed and governed by African Americans. The small farming community was founded in 1908 by Colonel Allen Allensworth and a group of others dedicated to improving the economic and social status of African Americans.

    Porterville Historical MuseumLocated in the original Southern Pacific RR Passenger Station built in 1913, contains articles used by and representational of local and early settlers.

  • Three Rivers Historical Museum

    Three Rivers Hisorical MuseumThe museum preserves and showcases the history of Three Rivers before the mid-1850's when the area was populated by the Yokut Indian Tribe who found the native oak trees, plants, fish, small animals, etc to be a veritable Eden for their survival.
  • Dinuba Depot Museum

    Dinuba Depot MuseumThe museum was developed in the Depot from the many items that were donated to the ADHS by members of the community. Since then numerous exhibits have been installed to make the museum the show case that it is.

  • Tulare County Symphony

    Tulare County SymphonyIn its 40-year history, the Symphony has grown from its original 30 members to a complement of 75 local and regional musicians. The Symphony performs classical, pops-in-the-park, holiday and young people concerts each season.
  • Visalia Arts

    Visalia ArtsThe Visalia Studio Artist Association (VSA) is an artist organization dedicated to expanding opportunities and exposure for independent visual artists and designers, while serving as a unifying hub for community information and interaction. Year round children's art classes are taught at Arts Visalia that focus on creative and critical thinking.

  • Fox Theater

    Visalia Fox TheaterThe Fox Theatre tells a lot about the community of Visalia. Opened in 1930 in the early days of "talking pictures," the theater was the grand showplace in town for over 40 years.
  • Enchanted Playhouse Theater

    Enchanted Playhouse TheaterThe Enchanted Playhouse Theatre Company wasfounded in 1992 with a mission to "enchant, surprise, excite and amuse audiences, young and old."
